Job Summary: Extensive understanding of industrial automation and control systems. Experience in operating and setting up VMCs (Vertical Milling Centers) and Lathe Machines. Knowledge of cutting tools, tool selection, and tool management. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications. Understanding of routine maintenance practices for VMCs and Lathe Machines. Ability to diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, or software issues. Familiarity with workplace safety protocols and machine operation safety. Proficiency in writing and debugging control software using programming languages such as Allen Bradley, APT, ELAU PLC, SCADA, HMI, or other automation tools. Experience configuring and programming controllers and associated devices for specific applications. Hands-on experience integrating HMI applications with control systems like PLCs, Historian products, and MES/business layer applications using edge technologies like MQTT protocol and web services. Experience with various communication protocols and OPC DA/UA drivers for plant floor connectivity, as well as enterprise-level integration (MES systems or enterprise database connectivity). Expertise in application setup, installation, and configuration. Experience with Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), Site Acceptance Testing (SAT), and commissioning of control systems. Experience with control system application upgrades and migrations. Proven track record of executing control system projects, particularly in the pharmaceutical industry. Responsibilities: Lead and execute Controls and Automation projects, including installing new control system components and upgrading existing systems. Design and develop control system solutions. Understand requirements and develop control systems, plant engineering solutions, and automation site support. Provide onsite support for Allen Bradley, APT, and ELAU PLC systems, including online debugging, FAT, SAT, troubleshooting, and code modifications for PLCs and HMIs. Coordinate with the engineering team during the validation cycle. Provide testing support and execute projects on the shop floor, including documentation and project status reporting. Act as the onsite control engineer, reviewing offshore work from a team of 4-5 engineers. Ensure effective communication between offshore and onshore teams. Qualifications B.E./B.Tech./MCA in Instrumentation and Control Systems or a related field. Must-Have Skills: Strong knowledge of industrial automation systems. Experience in operating and setting up VMCs and Lathe Machines. Ability to write and debug control software using languages such as Allen Bradley, APT, ELAU PLC, SCADA, and HMI. Expertise in integrating control systems into larger architectures like MES, business layer applications, and edge technologies (MQTT, web services, etc.). Strong experience with protocols like OPC DA/UA for plant floor connectivity. Responsible for designing, developing, testing, and troubleshooting control systems. Experience managing offshore teams while providing onsite support for FAT and SAT. Lead plant engineering and automation site support, including installation and configuration of control systems. Experience with control system application upgrades and migrations. Excellent verbal and written communication skills for coordinating between offshore and onshore teams. Extensive understanding of industrial automation and control systems. Experience in operating and setting up VMCs and Lathe Machines. Good to Have: Knowledge of Ignition SCADA and KPI dashboards/reporting. Experience with web-based data integration. Familiarity with Microsoft .NET and SQL Server databases.
