Position Close Date: 7/11/24 ***Uploading a resume and cover letter to your application is required to be considered for this opportunity.*** Position Summary: The Mentor Program Supervisor provides supervision, alcohol and drug or mental health recovery support, and case management to the Certified Recovery Mentors and other positions as assigned. This position supervises approximately 10 mentors and works under the direction of the BHRN Program Manager. In addition, this position is a part of the hiring team responsible for recruitment, hiring, training, and supervising of mentors in the outpatient treatment programs. Position requires the ability to coach and support cultural diversity and provide professional guidance and development of paraprofessional staff working offsite. Compensation: $52,902.72 - $70,549.99/year (Depends on Experience and/or Certifications).This is a full-time position with excellent benefits! Personal or professional experience with one or more of the following is beneficial, though not required, for performing the essential duties of the job: Houselessness Healing from personal, cultural, and historical trauma People involved in the legal system Gender-responsive services At-risk populations BIPOC and LGBTQIA2S*+ populations Education, Training and Experience: MHACBO Certified Recovery Mentor required. Minimum of 3 years working within a multidisciplinary team as a Certified Recovery Mentor. Minimum of one-year supervisor experience. Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor I (CADC I) credential preferred. Knowledge of addiction and the recovery process. Experience and expertise working with individuals involved in the criminal justice system. Experience and expertise in engaging those individuals experiencing houselessness. Experience and expertise working with individuals experiencing substance use or mental health. Experience in motivational interviewing. Knowledge of community resources and programs in the Multnomah County area. Knowledge of state and federal laws pertaining to addiction treatment (e.g. CFR 42 p II, HIPAA, Mandatory Reporting, ADA, Civil Rights, Fair Housing, etc.). Bilingual preferred. Competencies: Strong interpersonal skills, and an ability to engage and maintain relationships with individuals in recovery. High level of cultural competence to support culturally competent and/or culturally specific programming. Ability to coach and support co-workers and clients with diverse ethnic backgrounds, religious views, political affiliations, cultural backgrounds, lifestyles, and sexual orientation. Strong communication skills, both oral and written. Ability to maintain professional boundaries in challenging situations. Crisis intervention and de-escalation skills. Ability to work independently and as a member of a team. Ability to self-monitor and manage schedule within the community to meet the needs of the program and mentors. Additional Eligibility Requirements: Ability to pass a criminal background check. Reliable vehicle, active driver’s license, current insurance, and ability to pass insurance driving standards are required. Must meet the requirements set forth by OAR 309-019-0125 Staff Qualifications and Competencies as well as the CRM certification requirements set forth by MHACBO. Essential Duties & Responsibilities: Work with BHRN Program Manager in recruitment, hiring, training and supervision of mentors within outpatient treatment programs, support, and on-going training. Carry on-call phone, field phone calls and respond to crises as needed per supervisor during Outpatient operating hours. Use personal vehicle to drive to appointments, recovery activities, and to obtain resources. Work in a friendly, collaborative manner with community partners, including frequent communication regarding each mentor’s progress. Monitor accurate documentation of mentors to ensure timely entries for billing purposes. Ensure accurate data collection and utilization to inform the agency regarding peer delivered services, caseloads and expected outcomes. Use outcome data and cost benefit research to promote evidence-based SUD recovery services community-wide. Advise and train peers regarding the updates to relevant laws (CFR 42 p.II, HIPAA, Mandatory Reporting, ADA, Civil Rights, Fair Housing, etc.). Assist peer staff in understanding community resources relative to healthcare, allied providers, courts, child welfare, and entitlement programs. Model recovery philosophy and incorporate those tenets into the peer occupation, supervisory experience, and the orientation of the greater organization. Promote a safe, supportive atmosphere for ongoing recovery for staff and participants while maintaining professional boundaries at all times. Abide by agency policies and procedures and all relevant state and federal treatment regulations and standards, including strict confidentiality standards. Attend and provide individual and group supervision, and other meetings as assigned by the BHRN Program Manager. Participate with team members (clinical, administrative and VOA) in a manner that contributes to healthy team functioning. Develop and establish strong partnerships between mentor and clinicians to support positive outcomes of program participants. Supervisory Responsibility: Position is responsible for supervision of approximately ten employees. Works under direction of Outpatient Services BHRN Program Manager. Work Environment: Work is performed in a residential treatment center. May be required to intervene in crisis situations or work with agitated clients. Frequently drives throughout Portland metro area to attend court hearings, meetings, and sites. Schedule: This is a full-time position and includes on-call access for crisis management after hours.
