Fitter

Overview We are seeking a skilled and motivated Fitter to join our dynamic manufacturing and construction team. As a Fitter, you will play a vital role in assembling, installing, and maintaining complex mechanical systems and structures. Your expertise will help ensure that projects are completed efficiently, safely, and to the highest standards. Duties Read and interpret detailed blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to accurately assemble components. Use hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment such as press brake machines, plasma cutters, and pipe threading tools to fabricate and assemble metal structures. Perform welding tasks using MIG (Metal Inert Gas), TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas), FCAW (Flux-Cored Arc Welding), and welding techniques to join sheet metal, ductwork, or piping according to ASME codes & standards. Conduct precise measurements using calipers, micrometers, and schematics to ensure components meet specifications. Operate rigging equipment and forklifts safely for lifting, positioning, and transporting heavy materials or assemblies on construction sites or manufacturing floors. Assemble mechanical parts and systems following detailed instructions while adhering to safety protocols and quality standards. Utilize fabrication techniques such as plasma cutting, soldering, machining, and pressing to create custom components or repair existing structures. Collaborate with team members on construction sites or manufacturing facilities to ensure timely project completion while maintaining safety standards. Skills Extensive construction site experience with a strong understanding of safety practices. Proficiency in MIG welding, TIG welding, FCAW, welding, and plasma cutting techniques. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings accurately. Skilled in using calipers, micrometers, hand tools, power tools, and specialized fabrication equipment. Knowledge of rigging procedures for lifting heavy materials safely with cranes or forklifts. Mechanical knowledge related to pipe threading, ductwork installation, assembly processes, and manufacturing operations. Familiarity with ASME codes & standards for welding and fabrication work. Basic math skills for measurements and calculations essential in fabrication tasks. Experience working with schematics for electrical or mechanical systems is a plus.
