Special Procedures Tech Location: Los Angeles, CA Agency: Cynet Health Pay: $2,925 per week Shift Information: Rotating - 4 days x 10 hours Contract Duration: 13 Weeks Start Date: 5/11/2026 About the Position Job Title: Sr. Special Procedures Technologist Profession: Special Procedures Technologist Specialty: Special Procedures Technologist Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Variable Shift - M-F start 7am, 8am or 9am (Staggered shifts). Call Schedule - anything after hours. Hours per Shift: Varies Experience: Minimum of three years' technical experience preferred; experience as Special Procedures Technologist preferred. License: Required Radiologic Tech (RT) in the state of practice. Certifications: - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification preferred. - Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) or Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required. - Hospital Fire and Life Safety (HLFS) certification required. - Fluoroscopy (FLUORO) certification required. - Prevention and Management of Violent Behavior (PVMB) or Techniques for Effective Aggression Management (TEAM) or Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) required. Must-Have: Associates Degree or equivalent combination of education/related experience preferred; Bachelor's Degree in radiologic technology or equivalent preferred. Description: Performs, assists, and completes cardiac and vascular radiographic examinations. Performs active radiographic interventional procedures in the cardiovascular lab using complicated and sophisticated equipment. Operates equipment to produce digital images of designated body portions as ordered by physicians. Positions and instructs patients for examinations and performs specialized studies. Provides clinical care efficiently and effectively using a high level of technical and organizational skills as well as critical thinking ability. Models, mentors, and trains staff on technical skills. Provides input into hiring and promotion decisions for staff. Operates diagnostic imaging equipment to produce contrast-enhanced radiographs of the heart and cardiovascular system during cardiac catheterization. Aids physicians in diagnostic evaluation and treatment by positioning and immobilizing patients using specified protocols. Assists physicians with specialized procedures, including special exams. Enters technical factors determined by protocol into the computer. Raises and lowers examining tables and manipulates and positions x-ray tubes in response to instructions from physicians. Starts automatic injection of contrast medium into blood vessels of patients. Activates fluoroscope and motion picture camera to produce images that assist physicians in guiding catheters through the cardiovascular system of patients. Provides patients with procedure explanations in preparation for exams and clear discharge instructions. Observes gauges, recorder, and video screens during imaging of the cardiovascular system. Alerts physicians to changes in patient responses. Monitors and controls environmental factors, such as temperature and humidity. Assists physicians in interventional procedures, such as instilling enzymes or inserting balloons in blood vessels to remove plaque or other blockage. Maintains accurate and updated documentation, adhering to program standards. Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
