Database Infrastructure EngineerThe Georgia Department of Behavioral Health & Developmental Disabilities (GaDBHDD) is seeking an experienced Database Infrastructure Engineer to design, administer, automate, and optimize enterprise database infrastructure supporting mission-critical healthcare and government applications. This role is ideal for a highly skilled database infrastructure professional with expertise in Microsoft SQL Server, Azure Cloud, Windows Server, PowerShell, SSIS, and enterprise database automation. You will be responsible for maintaining highly available database environments, automating operational processes, optimizing system performance, implementing disaster recovery strategies, and ensuring compliance with state security and data governance standards. The ideal candidate has strong experience managing enterprise database environments, building automation solutions, supporting cloud infrastructure, and collaborating with development and infrastructure teams to deliver secure, scalable, and high-performing data platforms.Key Responsibilities:Design, implement, administer, and maintain enterprise database infrastructure supporting mission-critical applications.Install, configure, upgrade, and maintain Microsoft SQL Server environments across development, testing, and production.Manage Windows Server and Azure-based database infrastructure to ensure high availability and optimal performance.Design, schedule, automate, and monitor database jobs, maintenance plans, backups, and ETL workflows.Develop and maintain automation scripts using PowerShell, SSIS, and related technologies to streamline database administration.Monitor database health, storage utilization, server performance, and resource consumption.Perform database performance tuning, query optimization, indexing, and execution plan analysis.Troubleshoot database, infrastructure, networking, and application-related issues affecting database performance.Implement and maintain backup, recovery, replication, and disaster recovery (DR) strategies.Conduct failover testing and validate business continuity procedures.Configure and manage user security, authentication, permissions, and role-based access controls.Ensure compliance with State of Georgia data governance, security, privacy, and regulatory requirements.Support IIS configuration and application environments for database-integrated applications.Collaborate with developers, infrastructure teams, system administrators, and business stakeholders to support enterprise applications.Maintain technical documentation, operational procedures, system configurations, and disaster recovery documentation.Participate in production support activities and provide 24x7 on-call support for critical systems as required.Required Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a related technical field.7+ years of experience in database administration or database infrastructure engineering.Strong hands-on experience with: Microsoft SQL Server, Windows Server, Microsoft Azure Cloud.Extensive experience managing enterprise database infrastructure in production environments.Advanced proficiency with: PowerShell, SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS).Experience optimizing SQL queries and database performance.Strong understanding of: Storage infrastructure, Networking, Cloud architecture, Infrastructure administration.Experience implementing: Backup & Recovery, High Availability (HA), Disaster Recovery (DR),
