Benefits and 401KOpportunities for career growth and development.ResponsibilitiesWhat your day looks like as a Lead Mechanic:Perform fueling, inspections, preventive maintenance, and minor repairs to ensure safe, reliable equipment performance.Execute advanced mechanical repairs involving hydraulic, pneumatic, braking, hub, and drive/steer systems.Diagnose and troubleshoot equipment issues across mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and PLC-controlled systems.Use diagnostic tools and OEM software (including Cummins, Volvo, and PLC systems) to identify faults and implement effective repairs.Troubleshoot PLC systems and interpret electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic schematics to support accurate diagnostics and repairs.Perform root cause analysis and restore equipment to OEM specifications and performance standards.Provide leadership, mentorship, and technical support to mechanics on the team.Assign and prioritize work orders while ensuring quality, efficiency, and timely completion of repairs.Communicate effectively with operations and dispatch teams regarding equipment status, availability, and repair timelines.QualificationsWhat your day looks like as a Lead Mechanic:High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certification is preferred.2-3 years of experience in crane, heavy equipment, or industrial maintenance.Strong understanding of electrical and electronic systems, with experience in PLC diagnostics and troubleshooting.Ability to read, interpret, and work from schematics, service manuals, and technical drawings.Solid working knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.Valid driver’s license required, with ability to meet company insurability standards.Must possess or be eligible to obtain a TWIC card.Strong communication skills in English required; bilingual English/Spanish is an asset.Why Logistec?At LOGISTEC, we want to be a global multi-purpose terminal operator and logistics service provider, driving solid results through safety, collaboration and excellence.We pride ourselves on building and sharing our expertise in order to contribute to the success of our customers and our communities.
