Immersive Education Intern (Full-Time)
Basic Job Function:Provide Hospitality, Culinary, or Business Management students the opportunity to gain firsthand work experience, while rotating through multiple departments within the resort. Provide friendly, attentive, and timely service to create an exceptional experience for all guests and members. Promote the Sea Island legacy of warm, genuine hospitality. Uphold and ensure compliance with all company and departmental policies and procedures.Minimum Requirements:High School Diploma or equivalent credentialsAssociates degree in Hospitality, Culinary, or Business ManagementEnrolled in and pursuing a degree at an accredited institutionOne year of hospitality experienceMinimum of 18 years of age (Georgia Law requires one to be over the age of 18 to dispense or serve alcoholic beverages)TIPS (Training of Intervention Procedures) Certified preferredServSafe Certification preferredFamiliarization with Micros POS (point-of-sale) System preferredExcellent communication skills, both written and verbalProficient in Windows XP and Microsoft Office Software applications, such as Word, Excel, and OutlookProficient with peripherals, copier, fax, telephone, and calculatorAbility to provide simple math calculationsConsistently aspires to fulfill Core Company Values (Respect, Integrity, Passion, Teamwork, Accountability, Caring, Loyalty, & Trust)Exhibits the Sea Island Five-Star Behavior Standards with guests, members, and co-workersMust possess a cheerful outlook, work with a variety of people, and cooperate with coworkers efficiently and effectivelyMust be meticulous and able to manage competing priorities and multiple deadlines in a demanding environmentAbility to easily adapt to organizational and environmental changesMust be flexible to working days, early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidaysReport to work at the scheduled time, neatly groomed, and in compliance with Company Dress Code PolicyTasks/Responsibilities: Rotate through all areas of the assigned department, such as Rooms, Guest Services, Parking, and Food & BeverageTrain and work in all line-level positionsLearn the various components necessary to execute any divisional operationMonitor and be involved in the proper execution of all policies and proceduresMaintain a thorough knowledge of current guest services, activities, dining options, shops, local attractions, and historical information regarding Sea Island and the surrounding area to answer any questions guests may have to the best of one's abilityRespond to all guest requests and follow through to assure satisfactory outcome and complianceWork with all hotel departments to maintain maximum rapport and open communication channels in order to anticipate and satisfy guest needs and demandsAct to solve problems, coordinating necessary efforts through the appropriate departmentsConsistently follow-up with guests to ensure proper actions and responses have been receivedIf applicable, complete a Guest Problem Resolutions (GPR) form on any issues (solved or unsolved) and follow up on issues, as needed (if computer access is not available, give information to admin support)Maintain cleanliness and organization in all work areasUphold appropriate departmental standards of quality and timingUphold and ensure compliance with all company and departmental policies and proceduresReport all equipment problems, maintenance issues, known safety hazards, or unsafe practices and procedures to supervisor immediatelyAttend all scheduled employee meetings and bring suggestions for improvementWilling and timely execution of other duties as delegated by leadershipPhysical Requirements: Ability to kneel, crouch, squat, climb, stand, sit, balance, reach, bend, push, pull, and walk for prolonged periodsIf applicable, must have the ability to work for extended time periods in an outdoor environment, including: sun, heat, cold, wind, rain, and higher than normal noise levelsAbility to perform repetitive tasks with accuracyAbility to lift, carry, pull, and push up to 30 lbs. intermittently throughout a shiftAbility to read, write, and communicate effectively in English, both written and verbalMay be exposed to mechanical, electrical, chemical, and fume hazardsAbility to maintain compliance with Sea Island's Company Resort Professional Image PolicyEqual Opportunity Employer/Protected Veterans/Individuals with DisabilitiesThis employer is required to notify all applicants of their rights pursuant to federal employment laws.
