THE POSITIONAs a Corrections Food Service Instructor with the State Correctional Institution (SCI) at Somerset, you will play an important part in shaping positive routines within the facility. You will play a key role in maintaining reliable meal preparation and supporting safety and sanitation across the work area. As a Corrections Food Service Instructor, you will perform the following duties:Food Instruction: Teach inmates how to prepare, cook, bake, and serve food according to established proceduresSafety Oversight: Ensure proper sanitation, equipment use, and safe handling practices in all work areasWork Assignment Planning: Organize inmate job tasks and review performance to maintain consistent workflowInventory Management: Monitor food supplies, adjust recipes as needed, and follow approved storage proceduresOperational Monitoring: Inspect kitchen areas and equipment to verify compliance with standardsInterested in learning more?
