Controller
PRIMARY DUTIES :
Duties include but are not limited to: Maintenance of an adequate comprehensive system of Internal Accounting Controls for the banking unit. Maintain an adequate system of accounting records that meets regulatory expectations and requirements. Ensure the bank complies with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and Regulatory Accounting Principles. Manage Outsourced accounting functions Oversee assigned employees and ensure their skills are adequate for achieving the department's goals and objectives. Responsible for coordination with others regarding the banks financial reporting systems. Responsible for financial reporting accuracy. Responsible for timely and accurate payment of banks accounts payable. Responsible for accounting BCP plan responsibilities. Management of daily liquidity management functions. Coordinates liquidity position with CFO. Coordinates provision of financial information to auditors and examiners. Other accounting functions/duties may be assigned by management from time to time. Provides the best service to our customers with innovative and creative solutions.
QUALIFICATIONS:
The controller is required to have a Bachelor's degree in accounting or business administration and 5+ years' experience in this or similar role, or equivalent business experience with a minimum of 10+ years of progressively responsible accounting experience for a banking, public accounting or equivalent organization in the Controller role for similar or larger institution. Preference will be given to candidates with the Certified Public Accountant or Certified Management Accountant designations. Prior experience with Fiserv Prologue, and Syntellis Axiom, and automated ACL systems is helpful. Must be able to travel to other units of the bank for up to a week at the time, as well as attend approved conferences and other training outside of assigned location.
