The Role Based in Minneapolis, you’ll be guided by and receive support from the Payroll Manager and the Compliance, Compensation and Benefits team. Simply put, your purpose will be to be ensure that employees of Alight are paid accurately and on-time and that all the corresponding documentation is compliant and audit-ready at all times. You’ll know you’re doing well if you perform established payroll practices and ensure compliance with ALIGHT policies and procedures for the payroll activities of the organization Government donor compliance. Building a shared organization takes time and intention. We will always be becoming Alight, which means your work will evolve as well. For now, here’s how you could anticipate spending your time: Payroll – U.S. local, U.S. Expatriates and non-U.S. Expatriates - 90% of time  Work closely with the HR Compliance, Compensation and Benefits team members, along with other staff, to ensure payroll and all employee records are accurate  Maintain codes and their special calculations (if any) in the ADP system  Review online timesheets, follow up with employees and supervisors to resolve issues  Confirm payroll accuracy, submit to ADP for previews, review all company codes payroll previews and Supply backup documentation for all. Review HQ preview with Controller. .  Enter and process online salary wire payment for payroll for approval. Maintain wire transfer templates accurately.  Maintain employee payroll records. Review and ensure accuracy of leave accrual report monthly, make necessary adjustments and update at year end. Provide reports, answer inquiries  Distribute per Pay Period, Quarterly and Annual reports Quarterly and Annual reports (941/940 and W-2s.)  Perform other duties timely as assigned by the Director of CCB and the Payroll Manager Audit - 10% of time  Assist with year-end audit including providing all necessary documents.  Ensure all Payroll files and supporting documentation are organized so they are Audit Ready at all times by maintaining them properly  Communicate any problems or concerns regarding procedures or any other issues with management. We’re also looking for the following technical competencies:  1-3 years’ experience in payroll.  Working knowledge of non-profit/fund accounting and ADP payroll system.  Understanding of U.S. and international payroll compliance.  Computer skills and knowledge of various payroll systems to include ADP  Detail-oriented, organized and respect for accuracy in numbers is essential.  Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.  Ability to work well under pressure with distractions  Highly motivated self-starter  Excellent communication, interpersonal and team skills These are the things we’re aiming to find.
