DescriptionAs a Senior Principal or Principal Systems Engineer within IT RDM Computational Innovation, you will play a pivotal role supporting our colleagues across Computational Innovation (CI). You will combine deep technical expertise with a strong customer centric mindset to ensure robust, scalable, and modern compute environments and workflows that accelerate scientific discovery. You will serve as a technical expert for Linux-based research systems, workflow orchestration, data science platforms, CI/CD processes, and cloud integrated environments. The position may be eligible for a role specific variable or performance based bonus and or other compensation elements. For an overview of our benefits please click here.Duties & ResponsibilitiesProvide high-quality user and system support to Computational Innovation colleagues, acting as a trusted technical partnerSupport R/Python scientific tooling, libraries, and execution environmentsSupport troubleshooting automation and computational workflows (e.g., Nextflow)Support AWS services like S3, EC2, SageMaker (and/or Datbricks)Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues across infrastructure, applications, and workflowsImplement and maintain Jenkins pipelines for research applications and automationsOperate, maintain, and continuously improve research IT systems throughout their full system life cycle (design → deployment → maintenance → retirement)Collaborate with global IT, platform teams, and scientists to scale cloud enabled compute environmentsRequirements Sr. Principal Systemes Engineer Associate degree in Computer Science, MIS or related field with minimum 11 years experience; or Bachelor degree in Computer Science, or MIS, or related field with a minimum 9 years of experience; or a Master in Computer Science, MIS, or related experience with minimum of 7 years of experience; or relevant Business or IT experience of minimum of 11 years.
