Job Description Litigation Legal Assistant Location:Evanston, Illinois 60201 Schedule:Monday – Friday, 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Compensation:$70,000 Work Arrangement:In-officeAbout the Firm We are a plaintiff-focused law firm in Evanston, IL, dedicated to securing justice for victims of nursing home abuse, neglect, and personal injury. We combine compassion with excellence, meticulous legal work, and a commitment to achieving meaningful results for our clients.JOB SUMMARY: We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Legal Assistant to join our small and established litigation firm, handling in plaintiff’s personal injury cases with an emphasis on nursing home abuse litigation. This position plays a vital role in supporting attorneys through every phase of the litigation process.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Case Management: Track deadlines, court dates, and ensure all case files are current and accurately maintained. Discovery Process: Assist in coordinating discovery requests and responses, including interrogatories, document requests, and depositions. Organize and manage discovery documents, including medical records, bills, and accident reports. Communicate with clients to gather information and documents relevant to their case. Client Communication: Serve as a primary contact for clients, providing updates and answering questions regarding their case status.QUALIFICATIONS Education and Experience Minimum of 4 years of litigation experience, specifically in plaintiff’s personal injury, nursing home and/or medical malpractice law. Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, case management software, and e-filing systems. Strong understanding of court rules and procedures. Soft Skills: Exceptional organizational and time-management skills. Strong written and verbal communication skills.BENEFITS: Starting salary at $70,000.
