Why This Role Exists
This role supports continued production demand for precision ground components used in high-tolerance manufacturing environments.
You'll play a key role in producing critical parts where surface finish, concentricity, and tight tolerances matter — helping ensure quality, consistency, and on-time delivery across production.
The Work You'll Be Doing
In this role, you will:
Set up and operate CNC ID/OD grinding machines
Select appropriate grinding wheels based on material and application
Perform part changeovers, including program input and adjustments
Establish and adjust work offsets manually and using probing technology
Utilize tool setters and perform tool offsets as needed
Read and interpret machine programs and make speeds/feeds edits under guidance
Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve machine alarms and process issues
Correct out-of-process conditions (runout, flatness, etc.)
Calibrate tool setters, probes, and pre-setter arms
Read and interpret complex blueprints, GD&T, and CMM reports
Maintain precision grinding standards and quality output
Cross-train team members on machine operations
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized workspace following 5S principles
Follow all safety, quality, and operational procedures

Required Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED
Ability to read blueprints, sketches, and technical instructions
Experience using precision measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, bore gauges)
Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment
Preferred Qualifications
Experience setting up and operating CNC and/or manual grinding machines
Basic CNC programming knowledge (editing, offsets, simple program changes)
Experience with ID/OD micrometers, dial bore gauges, and precision xtnlbfm inspection tools
Understanding of speeds, feeds, and metal cutting/grinding fundamentals
Experience in aerospace or tight-tolerance manufacturing environments
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
