This position is responsible for performing duties in accordance with established shipping procedures. In addition, they are required to maintain efficiency and timely shipments to external customers.How You Will Impact Smurfit Westrock Packaging SolutionsAbility to review all pallet label information to determine the label represents the pallet of finished goodsAbility to use the AS/400 computer system for warehouse management and shipping systemsAbility to use forklift and reach truck for material handlingAbility to determine the cleanliness of the load and use the pallet cleaner as neededAbility to communicate with outside carriers to coordinate the pickup of finished goodsAbility to communicate issues with Account ManagersAbility to create a Bill of Lading or Shipping Order for all shipmentsAbility to perform final inspection of pallet looking for accuracy and any damageAbility to use proper safety systems and safety checks for dock locks and entering and leaving a truck with a fork truckAbility to keep records and logs updated and accurately reflect shipping activityAbility to complete and turn in all documentation to accounts receivable or requisitionedAbility to locate specific inventory at any timeMaintain housekeeping in and around dock, storage, and shipping yard and baling roomAbility to assist in material handlingAbility to assist in the receiving coordinators functionsAbility to assist in the baling functionAbility to perform physical inventories as needed including offsite warehousesMaintain areas of recycling of metal, wood, and paperOther duties as assignedWhat You Need To SucceedMust currently be in the Warehouse DepartmentMust have Forklift CertificationMust be able to lift 50 pounds, able to use a computer, ability to communicate with carriers and internal managers and solve problems. The individual must be capable of operating without direct supervision.
