Senior Software Developer
Salary:
$95,000 - 130,000 per year Requirements: We are looking for 7+ years of hands-on full-stack development experience. We require a related bachelors degree or equivalent practical experience. Strong proficiency in C# and .NET Core or .NET 8 is needed. You should be comfortable working across legacy and newer systems in an evolving codebase. You must be able to ramp up quickly on a large codebase. Experience with JavaScript/TypeScript and Vue 2 or 3 is required; exposure to KnockoutJS is a plus. A solid understanding of relational databases such as PostgreSQL or SQL Server is expected. Knowledge of HTML5, CSS/Less, T-SQL, and Git/GitHub is important. Strong code review skills and the ability to think through edge cases and non-standard workflows are needed. You should be committed to helping teammates complete work as much as your own. Broad technical curiosity and a strong appetite for learning are valued. You must be able to work independently and collaboratively in a remote, distributed team. Exposure to DevOps workflows or CI/CD pipelines is preferred. Experience with AWS services or cloud deployments is an advantage. Bonus experience includes maritime, maintenance, compliance, or industrial software. Familiarity with usability and UI trends, plus openness to new technologies and perspectives, is a plus.
Responsibilities:
We design and implement new features across the full stack using modern design patterns. We write clean, maintainable code in C#, .NET, Vue, TypeScript, and PostgreSQL. We review code and ensure our design and development practices meet Helms standards. We troubleshoot, debug, and improve performance across the stack. We collaborate with Product Managers, UX, and QA to turn ideas into high-value, high-quality solutions that support business goals. We join daily stand-ups, kick-offs, estimation sessions, and retrospectives. We break requirements into actionable development tickets that can be estimated and delivered. We manage project timelines while maintaining strong quality standards. We contribute to infrastructure as code, monitoring, and test automation to support reliability. We continually improve our development practices, tools, and standards within an agile approach. We share knowledge, mentor teammates, and help the team deliver faster and better. We become fully trained on assigned Helm products and tools. We support our culture of teamwork, approachability, accountability, and determination, and participate in company events when possible.
