You’ll be supported and challenged to contribute in meaningful ways – working on real projects alongside experienced professionals to prepare for future success.JOB SUMMARY:Interns will gain experience in the field of Environmental Health and Safety (EH&S), while being exposed to multiple forms of manufacturing of Textron Aviation Aircraft. Learn how to apply Environmental and Safety regulations in a real-world manufacturing environment. Interns will have the opportunity to experience day to day operations, working independently and in teams, to promote an Environmentally Healthy and Safe culture.JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:Assist managers in the write-up and review of safety documentsPrepare safety presentations for the education of all company employeesRun root cause/corrective action exercises that eliminate safety hazardsFurther develop existing safety programs such as Confined Space, Hazardous Material, Fall Protection, Lock out/Tag outEDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:Pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in:Environmental Health and SafetyFire ScienceEnvironmental ScienceIndustrial EngineeringManufacturing EngineeringMechanical EngineeringIndustrial HygieneErgonomicsHuman FactorsManufacturing TechnologyPhysiotherapyOther related fieldsQUALIFICATIONS:Strong analytical and problem-solving skillsQuickly grasps new concepts when faced with unfamiliar tasksExcellent written and verbal communication skillsUnderstanding of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma desiredComputer proficientBuilds and maintains constructive relationshipsApplicants must be authorized to work lawfully in the U.S. for Textron Aviation at the time of making application, and visa sponsorship is not available for this position, including for F-1 students and J-1 exchange visitors who will need employment sponsorship. Summer internships are 40 hours per week typically from late-May to early-August lasting 10 weeks. Candidates must be able to work onsite for the entirety of the internship program unless approved otherwise by the hiring manager.
