Electrical Systems Development Engineer – Functional ECUs & Smart Security

We are seeking an experienced and collaborative Electrical Systems Development Engineer to lead the development and integration of vehicle electronic systems that directly impact customer convenience, comfort, security, and overall vehicle performance. In this role, you will own the development of Functional ECUs and Smart Security systems from concept through vehicle launch. You'll work cross-functionally with design, packaging, manufacturing, validation, suppliers, and vehicle development teams to deliver high-quality solutions that meet performance, cost, timing, and regulatory requirements. This position offers the opportunity to take ownership of complex vehicle systems, solve challenging engineering problems, influence design decisions, and contribute to the development of next-generation vehicle electronics. *What You'll Do* * Lead the vehicle development and integration of Functional ECUs, including: * Power Sliding Door ECUs * Power Tailgate ECUs * Seat Control ECUs * Power Window ECUs * Sunroof ECUs * Additional body electronics systems * Develop and integrate Smart Security systems, including: * Smart Entry and Smart Start ECUs * Immobilizer systems * Vehicle antennas * Related security components * Establish system targets and requirements that balance customer expectations, performance, quality, cost, and regulatory compliance. * Evaluate packaging, routing, and styling feasibility to ensure successful vehicle integration. * Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to identify root causes, develop countermeasures, and drive issues to resolution throughout the vehicle development process. * Create and release engineering specifications and requirements to suppliers while managing project timing, quality, and technical deliverables. * Own component development activities from concept through production launch, ensuring successful implementation across all vehicle development phases. * Manage engineering documentation, including part lists, engineering change documentation, and wiring specifications. * Support design reviews and provide technical justification for engineering decisions, trade-offs, and recommendations. * Drive continuous improvement initiatives that enhance product quality, development efficiency, and customer satisfaction. *What You Bring* * Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related engineering discipline. * 5+ years of experience in electrical systems, electronics, or vehicle systems development. * Strong problem-solving, analytical, and troubleshooting skills with the ability to identify root causes and implement effective solutions. * Experience managing technical projects and coordinating activities across multiple stakeholders. * Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with engineering teams, suppliers, and leadership. * Ability to take ownership of technical issues and drive them to successful resolution. * Willingness to support critical project milestones, including occasional overtime as needed. *Preferred Qualifications* * Experience with vehicle electronics development and integration. * Knowledge of body electronics, smart access, security systems, or related vehicle electronic architectures. * Experience working with suppliers to develop and validate electronic components. * Proficiency with CATIA and vehicle packaging activities. * Experience creating or managing wiring specifications, electrical architecture documentation, or engineering change processes. *Why Join Us?* * Work on highly visible vehicle systems that customers interact with every day. * Own development activities from concept to production launch. * Collaborate with industry-leading engineering teams and suppliers. * Solve complex technical challenges in vehicle electronics and security systems. * Contribute to the advancement of next-generation connected and intelligent vehicle technologies. * Grow your technical expertise while expanding your leadership and project ownership responsibilities. \*\*\*1513365\*\*\* *Company Overview* Adapt Technology is a US-based engineering and staffing company specializing in delivering innovative solutions across a broad spectrum of industries, including automotive, aerospace, medical, and automation.
