Location: 1213 Court St, Utica, NY 13502
Salary range: $296,801 to $310,022 annually
Employment Type: Full‑Time, Permanent, Competitive Class
Workweek: 40 hours, schedule to be determined
Duties
Carry out psychiatric examinations and assessments, make diagnoses, and write physician’s orders
Determine need for and conduct consultations with external psychiatric personnel
Educate patients individually
Participate with other clinical staff on the treatment team
Respond to psychiatric emergencies
Carry out discharge planning and post‑discharge referral
Carry out quality improvement activities
May supervise a Nurse Practitioner Psychiatry and other job‑related tasks as assigned
Assist at other ATCs within the region as needed (computer skills required)
Minimum Qualifications
Must possess a license and current registration to practice medicine in New York State, and certification in psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN) (Psychiatrist 2)
Must possess a license and current registration to practice medicine in New York State, and completion of a training program in psychiatry approved by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN) (Psychiatrist 1)
Candidates must be eligible and maintain eligibility for full and unconditional participation in the Medicaid and Medicare programs. Failure to maintain licensure, certification, and Medicaid/Medicare eligibility will result in the termination of employment.
Background Investigation Requirements
Checked against the Staff Exclusion List (SEL)
Criminal Background Check (CBC) with state and federal criminal history checks
Screening against the Statewide Central Register of Child Abuse and Maltreatment (SCR)
Fingerprinting may be required
