Operator MN - 1st Shift

Job Title 6:00am-2:00pm, Monday-FridayPrincipal Duties and Responsibilities: Safe operation of laser, press brake/turret machine and various other tools used to complete projectCreate quality and accurate cuts/bends/folds according to blueprints.Inspect work for accuracy.Follow and enforce all CDI safety rules and regulationsEnsure equipment is properly set-up & used in a safe manner & that all safety devices are in use.Operate forklift, if required and certified.Performs inspections on product before, during, and after the build following CDI's standards.Monitor functionality of equipment and tools and request maintenance when required.Perform basic and preventative maintenance and repair as required.Effectively communicate with supervisors & other production staff to coordinate work schedulesOther duties as assigned.Other Duties and Responsibilities: Must be willing to cross-train as back-up in other areas of the manufacturing plant.Required to have proper and accurate entry into the time and attendance system.Other job-related duties may be necessary to carry out the responsibilities of this position.Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent qualificationMinimum 1-year experience operating laser, press brake/turret or other metal fabrication toolsExcellent knowledge of fabrication machinery, electrical equipment, and hand toolsAbility to read and interpret blueprints and designsOutstanding attention to detail and ability to multi-taskAbility to use tape measures and other measuring toolsRead and understand work orders and job schedulesMust be willing to undergo a pre-employment drug testMust be able to effectively read, write and speak the English languageAbility to frequently bend, twist, grip, squat and liftAbility to lift 50 pounds frequently, & lift 70 pounds occasionallyEEO/Affirmative Action Policy: CDI is an equal opportunity employer and prohibits harassment of any kind.
