Overview
As a Systems Engineer for Reliability and Maintainability, you influence design decisions to boost maintainability and reduce lifecycle costs. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify risks and craft practical improvements that support operational readiness. Your work spans from design reviews to lifecycle analyses, translating maintainability insights into actionable guidance. ResponsibilitiesPerform Maintenance Task Analysis (MTA) to define maintenance actions, sequences, times, and resourcesEvaluate designs for accessibility, modularity, interchangeability, ease of fault detection and isolationDevelop and assess MTTR and other maintainability metrics to steer design improvementsDefine, evaluate, and validate maintenance concepts and support strategies across maintenance levelsAssess maintenance requirements for tools, facilities, personnel skills, and dataIdentify maintainability risks early and collaborate with engineering to implement improvementsDevelop and present maintainability analyses and recommendations at reviews and program meetingsSupport integration of reliability, maintainability, logistics, and systems analyses throughout the lifecycleProvide technical guidance and mentorship to less-experienced engineers
