As a Associate II, Production Planning supporting Alcon's manufacturing site in Belmont, CA, you will be trusted with maintaining material schedules to support production control, managing material flow, and addressing shortages. You will use your expertise in supplier processes and production to alert authorities to potential issues.In this role, a typical day will include:Maintaining schedules for material requirements and availability to support production controlCompiling records on material quantity, cost, and type received, and status of shipped, in stock, or in production.Supporting the flow of materials, parts, and assemblies within or between departments according to production and shipping schedulesDetermining possible and actual shortages and initiating corrective actionsUsing knowledge of supplier processes, production, procurement, and engineering to alert authorities regarding potential problems and reviewing the master production schedule to determine shortagesEstimating and logging production rates and time expendituresEstablishing sequence and leading time of each operation to meet shipping datesHandling direct material buying and executing long-term supply chain strategiesMonitoring production to ensure promised delivery dates are metGenerating progress reports on schedule status and keeping records of completed ordersTaking appropriate action to expedite materialsAdhering to GxP regulations by following SOPs, maintaining accurate documentation, ensuring quality control, and completing required trainingMeeting individual job requirements and contributing to overall complianceCommitting to continuous improvement and regulatory complianceWHAT YOU'LL BRING TO ALCON:High School Diploma or equivalentThe ability to fluently read, write, understand and communicate in English3 Years of Relevant ExperiencePrior experience with inventory control and materials purchasingExperience with SAP or similar ERP systemProactive and able to maintain a strong sense of urgency to ensure inventory is available to keep operations runningSchedule: Monday - Friday, 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM (Eligible for paid overtime)HOW YOU CAN THRIVE AT ALCON:Join Alcon's mission to provide top-tier, innovative products and solutions to enhance sight & enhance lives.Grow your career in a highly collaborative and diverse environment.Alcon provides robust benefits package including health, life, retirement, paid time off, and much more!Alcon CareersSee your impact at alcon.com.careersATTENTION: Current Alcon Employee/Contingent WorkerIf you are currently an active employee/contingent worker at Alcon, please click the appropriate link below to apply on the Internal Career site.Find Jobs for EmployeesFind Jobs for Contingent WorkerTotal RewardsAlcon's Total Rewards programs are designed to align to incentives with business goals, encourage the right values and behaviors, and deliver long-term value.
