Trademark, Copyright & Branding Attorney (2nd to 5th year Associate)Multiple Offices: Chicago, Kansas City, St. Louis, New York, or Washington, DC.Summary DescriptionA national law firm is seeking a mid-level Associate to join its Trademark, Copyright & Branding team.The ideal candidate will have 2–5 years of experience advising clients on U.S. trademark clearance, prosecution, portfolio management, copyright counseling, and trademark-related disputes, with exposure to both domestic and international matters.Key ResponsibilitiesConduct U.S. trademark clearance searches and provide risk assessmentsManage trademark prosecution and portfolio strategyHandle matters before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board (TTAB)Advise clients on copyright issues and brand protection strategiesSupport trademark-related litigation and enforcement actionsDraft and negotiate licensing, acquisition, and IP-related agreementsAssist with international trademark prosecution and coordinationCollaborate across offices on complex, multi-jurisdictional mattersContribute to the growth of a national IP practiceQualificationsJD requiredActive bar admission in at least one jurisdiction where the candidate intends to practice2–5 years of relevant experience in:Trademark clearance, prosecution, and portfolio managementTTAB proceedingsCopyright counselingTrademark litigation (preferred)Experience with international prosecution and IP transactions is a plusStrong writing, research, and communication skillsPrior law firm experience requiredStrong academic credentials requiredAdditional InformationCandidates should demonstrate initiative, strong attention to detail, and the ability to manage complex IP matters efficientlyTeam-oriented mindset with the ability to work across a national platform
