Senior Finance Analyst or Finance AssociateDepartment / Area: Finance & TreasuryLocation: San Francisco, CAReports To: Finance Manager / Project Finance LeadEmployment Status: Full TimeWork Schedule: Hybrid, three days in office (Tuesday to Thursday) and two days remoteAbout the RoleThis role provides a unique opportunity to contribute directly to renewable energy projects through financial analysis, project finance, and valuation. The Senior Analyst will support structuring transactions, performing due diligence, and building financial models across wind, solar, and transmission projects. The role involves close collaboration with cross-functional teams, including development, construction, asset management, legal, and corporate finance.Key ResponsibilitiesBuild and maintain financial models for renewable energy projectsAssist in developing structured finance solutions, including tax equity and investment structuresPrepare internal and external investment presentations and briefsIdentify and quantify key investment drivers and perform sensitivity analysesSupport project development and asset due diligence, evaluating project value and riskConduct research, statistical analysis, and market risk assessmentAnalyze pricing and risk management strategies, including hedging productsAssist with treasury and capital planning functionsParticipate in meetings with internal and external stakeholdersRespond to inquiries from financial institutions and investors, acting as a contact for lenders and tax equity investorsSupport financing processes as a junior member of the transaction teamQualificationsEducation and ExperienceBachelor's degree in Finance, Mathematics, Economics, Engineering, or a related field2–4 years of experience in project finance, M&A, or structured financeStrong renewable energy exposure (wind, solar, storage, transmission)Proven ability to build financial models from scratchBackgrounds of interest: developer/IPPs, investment banking, infra PE/VCAbility to work on-site in San Francisco (hybrid role: Tue–Thu in office)Excellent communication skills; detail-oriented with a strong modeling foundationSkills and CompetenciesStrong analytical and financial modeling skillsExcellent verbal and written communication skillsAbility to work independently and collaboratively in a team environmentSkilled at synthesizing and organizing large datasetsStrong time management and prioritization abilitiesAdvanced proficiency in spreadsheets, presentation software, and research toolsInterview ProcessFinancial Modeling Test, 2 hours, built in Excel from scratchHiring Manager InterviewSuper Day, onsite 4-hour technical and cultural interviews with the project finance teamTarget Timeline: approximately 1 week for local candidates; 2 weeks for candidates requiring travel
