Company Description Lupus Life Alliance is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting individuals and families affected by lupus through education, wellness, community support, and resource navigation.Based in Northeast Ohio, LLA serves communities across Portage, Cuyahoga, Lake, and Summit Counties. Our work focuses on helping lupus warriors feel seen, supported, informed, and connected so they do not have to navigate lupus alone.Role DescriptionLupus Life Alliance is seeking a part-time, contract-based Community Outreach & Volunteer Coordinator to help build our volunteer base, strengthen local partnerships, and support upcoming awareness, wellness, and community events.This role is ideal for someone who is organized, dependable, people-centered, and passionate about community service, health awareness, and supporting individuals affected by chronic illness.The coordinator will help LLA recruit volunteers, connect with community organizations, assist with event planning, track outreach activity, and help document program participation for future grant and impact reporting.Responsibilities• Recruit and organize volunteers for LLA programs and events• Build relationships with churches, libraries, clinics, community centers, schools, local nonprofits, and community leaders• Assist with planning and supporting awareness events, wellness activities, and community outreach efforts• Help maintain volunteer lists, partner contact lists, sign-in sheets, and event records• Support event registration, check-in, follow-up, photos, testimonials, and participant feedback• Help secure letters of support and community partnership opportunities• Promote LLA programs and volunteer opportunities within Northeast Ohio communities• Provide regular updates on outreach progress, volunteer recruitment, and event preparation Qualifications • Strong communication and people skills• Organized, reliable, and able to follow through on tasks• Experience in community outreach, volunteer coordination, nonprofit work, event planning, healthcare, social services, or ministry is helpful• Comfortable reaching out to organizations by email, phone, and in person• Ability to work independently while staying aligned with LLA leadership• Familiarity with lupus, chronic illness, health equity, or underserved communities is a plus• Must be available for occasional local events in Northeast OhioPreferred Skills• Volunteer recruitment• Event coordination• Community partnership building• Basic Google Docs/Sheets or Microsoft Office skills• Social media or community promotion experience• Strong attention to detailHow to ApplyInterested candidates should send a resume and brief introduction to:info@lupuslifealliance.orgSubject line: Community Outreach & Volunteer CoordinatorLearn more about Lupus Life Alliance at:www.lupuslifealliance.org
