Portfolio Accountant
Job Summary:As NEWITY continues to scale, we are seeking a detail-oriented Portfolio Accountant to support our growing operational and financial infrastructure. This role is critical to maintaining the accuracy and integrity of our cash operations, loan accounting, and investor reporting functions. The ideal candidate brings hands-on experience in accounting or banking environments and thrives in a fast-paced, high-growth setting.Key Responsibilities:Execute waterfall processing twice per month for each vendor, ensuring accurate distribution of cash flows in accordance with partnership agreementsPerform bank account reconciliations across multiple accounts, investigating and resolving discrepancies on a timely basisMaintain general ledger accuracy with expertise in FASB fee accounting and revenue recognition standards applicable to loan origination and servicingPrepare and deliver investor reporting packages, including ongoing payment remittance reconciliations, ensuring completeness and accuracyCollaborate with Finance, Operations, and Loan Servicing teams to ensure cash positions and loan data are accurately reflected in financial systemsIdentify process improvement opportunities and contribute to the buildout of scalable cash management workflows as the portfolio growsQualifications:3–5 years of experience in accounting, banking, or a related financial operations roleStrong working knowledge of GAAP with specific exposure to FASB guidance on fee and revenue recognition preferredExperience with bank reconciliations, general ledger management, and cash flow reportingExceptional attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and ability to manage recurring deadlines independentlyExperience preparing or reviewing investor reporting and remittance reconciliations preferredFamiliarity with SBA lending (7(a) program), loan servicing, or structured finance is a plusExperience with 1502 Reporting is a plusProficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting/ERP platforms; QuickBooks experience is a plus.Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required; CPA or progress toward CPA is a plusBenefits:Salary: $75,000 – $95,000 per year + performance-based bonusComprehensive health, dental, and vision insuranceRetirement plan with company matchPaid time off and holidays
