Typical equipment includes: conveyor, carton / tote sortation, unit picking, unit sortation, case shuttle storage systems. The automation engineering team supports our operations teams at our more automated distribution sites across multiple project phases: design, implementation, testing, go-live, and post go-live.Provides equipment layout and function expert advice to our design and operations teams.Calculates equipment rates and targeted performanceSupports equipment punch listing and rate testingSupports warehouse control / execution system software design and testSupports and educates the operations team on how to use the new equipmentPerforms data analysis of equipment rates and errorsSupports the operations team to implement equipment maintenance agreementsDevelops productivity estimates for processes that interface with material handling equipmentKey Skills:Prior experience implementing automated unit / case handling equipmentPLC equipment controlCAD for equipment layoutExcellent verbal and written communicationProject managementWarehouse control systems (WCS)Warehouse management systems (WMS)BarcodingData analysis using excel, access, SQL, power BIMOST / MTM labor modelingGreat organizational skillsExperience with new distribution center start-upsRequired Education and ExperienceBachelor's Degree or 4 years equivalent work experience, required3+ years experience in Engineering, required1+ years experience in distribution, logistics, project management, requiredEmbraces change and challenges as opportunities for growthCan read a JDA flowchart and understand how productivity rates are calculatedProficient in using AutoCAD and making layout changes, adding layers as neededMastered slotting and pick path knowledge to layout and active pick areaFully understands layout needs based on equipment being used (i.e. aisle widths and MHE used)Proficient at optimizing and automated layoutsEffectively project manage a large-scale projectComfortable communicating projects and their impacts to the customerProficient in presenting and the ability to hold teams accountable to actionsKnowledge of site KPI's and frequently reviews KPI's to identify areas of opportunityProficient in CI and identifying waste within an operationActively seeks out challengesCapable of identifying, analyzing, and solutioning a problemUp to date on industry or external factors to generate new and innovative ideasLeads with vulnerability and readily admits mistakes but demonstrates resilianceInspire others to be positive and take on tough situationsTakes initiative and is proactive in completing tasksManages time effectively and consistently meets deadlinesDisplays confidence in decision-making and can make informed, strategic choices.Advances continuous improvement effortsIdentifies areas of opportunity within an operations and leads implementation effortsOur Organization is an equal opportunity employer.
