The Weitz Company is hiring a Construction Project Manager to join our Florida team in West Palm Beach! The Project Manager collaborates with the Project Superintendent and project team to manage all administrative and field construction activities for their assigned project(s). We believe our employees to be our most valuable asset, and we are committed to growing a diverse and inclusive culture that inspires, motivates, and continuously improves.What You'll Do:Collaborate with the project team and create/manage the project schedule, identify and address long lead items, update the project plan as needed, and ensure work in progress is within scopeNegotiate and execute change orders, subcontracts, and purchase ordersComplete monthly project status reports, owner billings, and financial risk assessmentsIdentify and recommend value engineering and scope reduction opportunitiesEnsure project safety plan is completed and communicated to project team and subcontractorsAssist with preconstruction efforts and manage buy-out processDetect constructability issues with project designUnderstand contract terms, budgets, insurances, bonds and change orders; ensure adherence including work progress being within scopeOversee construction documents, drawings, requests for information (RFI), and submittalsReview project plan with project team while coordinating and communicating scopes of workFoster positive relationships with both internal and external partiesWhat We're Looking For:Experience:5-10 years of experience in construction project managementCommercial construction experience working for a general contractor (GC)Experience in education, municipal, hospitality, aviation, resorts, and/or senior living construction is requiredKnowledge and application of Lean principlesSkills:Excellent project management skills and commercial construction knowledgeStrong business acumen, tact, and relationship building skillsExcellent verbal and written communicationAbility to make sound judgements and decisionsSolid leadership skills and comfortable with conflict resolutionAnalytical thinker with a high level of initiativeAdaptable to meet needs of the business and the clientDetail-oriented and highly organizedStrong negotiation skillsTechnology:Proficient in basic computer software including Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and OutlookAbility to learn specific job-related software upon hireWhat We Offer:Competitive PayRewarding Bonus ProgramComprehensive Benefits Package with Tax-Advantaged HSA and FSA offeringsEmployer-Paid Short- and Long-Term Disability ProgramsEmployer-Paid Life InsuranceGenerous Paid Time Off Provisions401K Retirement Savings Plan with Company MatchTuition ReimbursementFully Paid Parental LeaveVoluntary Products Including: Critical Illness Insurance and Accident InsuranceCorporate Wellness Program with Wellness Time Off and RewardsVisa sponsorship is not available for this position at this time.The Company does not accept unsolicited resumes from search firms or agencies.
