AI Engineer

We're looking for an AI Engineer that is available to work hybrid in either St. Louis, MO or Charlotte, NC. Work Authorization: H4 EAD, GC, or USC only and available to work directly on an Apex W2 Must Haves: Python, React, LangChain/LangGraph (or CrewAI, ADK, SpringAI, or Maestra), Gen-AI, Blockchain is a huge plus Client: Wells Fargo // Apex systems Pay Rate: $81.88/hour on apex w2 with benefits Location: St. Louis, MO or Charlotte, NC Top Must-Haves: • Strong experience with Python and React, including building production-ready, customer-facing applications and micro-frontend architectures. • Hands-on experience with Generative AI frameworks such as LangChain and LangGraph, and familiarity with agent-to-agent (A2A) patterns and AI orchestration concepts. • Ability to write clear technical documentation and define both functional and non-functional requirements, with strong communication and team leadership skills. • Background in financial services or banking (Wells Fargo experience is a plus, not required) and comfort working within enterprise SDLC processes. Project Details: • The initial project focus is building and enhancing a customer-facing AI chatbot platform for wealth and investment management users. • The application will use Python on the backend, React on the frontend, and LangChain/LangGraph as the AI middle tier. • The team will be expanding existing capabilities by adding new agents, features, tests, UI enhancements, and overall system scalability. • There is a long-term roadmap to evolve the platform with additional AI capabilities and potential blockchain integrations (Ethereum favored, experience is a plus). Job Description: • This role is focused on building and expanding a next-generation AI chatbot platform that will deliver advanced capabilities to financial advisors and client associates. The engineer will work hands-on with Python, React, and modern Generative AI frameworks such as LangChain and LangGraph to develop scalable, production-ready solutions. You will collaborate with a senior technical team to add new agents, enhance UI functionality, improve testing, and evolve the overall AI architecture. Strong communication skills are essential, as the role involves documentation, leadership, and interaction with multiple internal stakeholders.
