Certified Occupational Therapist ~ COTA

Job Description Our organization is in search of a caring and committed Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) to become a part of our Healthcare & Medical Services team, providing support to residents within our lively senior living community. In this position, you will operate under the guidance of a licensed Occupational Therapist to offer exceptional, individualized therapeutic services aimed at enhancing independence, safety, and overall quality of life for residents across independent living, assisted living, and memory care environments. Your responsibilities will include assisting in the execution of tailored treatment plans that emphasize functional daily activities such as self-care, mobility, cognitive tasks, and home management, while meticulously documenting progress and sharing updates with the interdisciplinary care team.As a COTA within our organization, you will engage in therapeutic activities and exercises, deliver hands-on support and guidance, and modify tasks and environments to cater to the physical, cognitive, and emotional needs of residents. You will also provide education to residents and their families regarding safe techniques, the use of adaptive equipment, and strategies to sustain or enhance functional abilities. Collaboration is essential in this role; you will work closely with nurses, caregivers, therapists, and physicians to ensure coordinated care, participate in care conferences, and assist in discharge and transition planning when necessary.Your contributions will extend to safety and fall-prevention initiatives, where you will help with environmental assessments, suggest modifications, and train staff on safe resident-handling and positioning techniques. Timely and accurate clinical documentation, compliance with all regulatory and organizational standards, and support for quality improvement initiatives are fundamental expectations.
