SAP Finance Application Support Analyst
OverviewWe are currently partnering with a global organization looking to hire a highly hands-on SAP Finance Application Support Analyst to support and maintain SAP ECC and SAP S/4 Finance environments across core accounting, treasury, planning, and financial reporting capabilities.This is not a pure implementation or project-focused role. The position is heavily focused on production support, issue resolution, operational stability, and business continuity across Finance-related SAP processes and applications.The ideal candidate will have strong experience supporting SAP Finance environments in live production settings and be comfortable working directly with Finance, Accounting, Treasury, and Planning stakeholders to troubleshoot issues and drive resolution in fast-paced operational environments.Key Responsibilities1) SAP Finance Support & Incident ResolutionProvide day-to-day production and functional support for SAP ECC and SAP S/4 Finance environmentsSupport key Finance capabilities including: SAP FICO, Treasury Management, AP, AR, GL, COPA, Central Finance (CFIN), SAP DRC, BPC, SAC PlanningDiagnose incidents, troubleshoot business process and system issues, and perform root cause analysisResolve incidents, service requests, and defects in a timely mannerCoordinate with internal IT teams, SAP support resources, and external vendors when escalations are required2) Ticket Management & Operational SupportManage workload and ticket queues through ServiceNowMonitor and progress incidents, requests, and defect tickets within agreed service levelsMaintain accurate documentation, ticket updates, and resolution notesWork directly with Finance stakeholders to prioritize work based on operational impact, urgency, deadlines, and business riskMaintain clear communication throughout the ticket lifecycle3) Business Partnership & Functional SupportPartner closely with: Finance teams, Accounting teams, Treasury stakeholders, Planning teamsInvestigate reported issues and clarify business requirementsTranslate business process needs into functional analysis and practical support solutionsCommunicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders regarding status, impact, and resolution steps4) Problem Management & Continuous ImprovementIdentify recurring incidents and process breakdownsAnalyze trends and recommend corrective or preventive actionsCreate and maintain: Support documentation, Troubleshooting guides, Process flows, Knowledge articles, Standard operating proceduresParticipate in post-incident reviews and support process improvement initiatives5) Testing, Change Support & Release ReadinessSupport testing and validation activities related to: Fixes, Enhancements, Configurations, Patches, Upgrades, Production changesCoordinate with developers, integration teams, functional analysts, and business users during validation and release activitiesAssist with implementation support and post-release stabilization efforts6) Cross-Functional Coordination & GovernanceCollaborate with adjacent SAP teams, integration teams, security teams, audit teams, and reporting teamsSupport compliance, controls, governance, and documentation requirements related to Finance applications and operational processesRequired Experience5+ years of experience in: SAP Application Support, SAP Production Support, SAP Functional SupportStrong experience supporting SAP ECC and/or SAP S/4 Finance environmentsExperience supporting: SAP FICO, Treasury Management, AP, AR, GL, COPA, CFIN, SAP DRC, BPC, SAC PlanningExperience working with ticket management systems such as ServiceNowStrong troubleshooting and root cause analysis capabilitiesExperience managing incidents, defects, and operational support requestsExperience working directly with Finance and business stakeholders to manage support priorities and expectationsPreferred ExperienceExperience with: Incident management, Problem management, Change management, Testing and release supportSAP Finance-related certifications are a plus, but not requiredKey SkillsStrong functional understanding of SAP ECC and SAP S/4 Finance support environmentsStrong knowledge across Finance domains including: FICO, Treasury, AP/AR, GL, COPA, CFIN, BPC, SAC PlanningExcellent troubleshooting and analytical skillsAbility to manage multiple priorities in fast-paced production environmentsStrong understanding of support operations and service management practicesStrong communication and stakeholder management skillsAbility to work independently while collaborating across technical and business teamsStrong documentation and organizational skills
