The RT will be the interdepartmental leader in bridging activity-based intervention for our residents. This professional will complete comprehensive assessments to determine the most appropriate, functional activities to implement with our residents, in collaboration with all therapy disciplines, Resident Services, and Program Services staff. The RT may design fun, meaningful programming to restore and promote our residents’ psychological wellbeing, social interactions, effective engagement in daily activities, and overall quality of life. Programming may include activities within the home, Adult Training Facility (ATF), and in the community. This is a full-time, salaried, and exempt position.Schedule Available8am-4pm: Monday thru FridayContributionsCompetently applies modalities and supports care in a manner consistent with the National Council for Therapeutic Recreation Certification (NCTRC).Creates, monitors, and implements a comprehensive evaluation process to determine a resident’s social, cognitive, emotional, leisure, spiritual, and functional needs.Conducts group and 1:1 sessions, based on established RT plan of care.Consults and maintains open communication with other therapeutic disciplines, along with Resident Services, Nursing, and Program Services professionals.Provides training/in-service orientation to designated staff regarding Recreational Therapy program implementation and other pertinent training as identified by the Interdisciplinary Team.Completes all necessary documentation such as 90-day reviews and procedures, attends annual meetings as needed, and implements therapeutic programming in the residences, ATF, and community as appropriate. Actively participates in the Interdisciplinary Team Process.Supervises RT students when applicable.Performs routine clerical support tasks, which may include daily logs, ordering supplies, and collection of department statistics.Provides an environment conducive to safety for clients, visitors, and staff.Participates in all infection control, department equipment training, regulatory compliance, organizational safety, and fire safety programs.Will assume all other duties as assigned.
