Registered Nurse (RN) | Medical-Surgical Location: Pagosa Springs, CO Agency: Cynet Health Pay: $2,236 per week Shift Information: Days - 3 days x 12 hours Contract Duration: 13 Weeks Start Date: 5/18/2026 About the Position Job Title: RN Med Surg Profession: Nursing Specialty: Med-surg Adult Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day shift Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum of 5 years License: Current RN license in good standing Certifications: Current BLS certification for healthcare providers, Current ACLS certification or ability to complete within 3 months, Current PALS certification or ability to complete within 3 months Must-Have: - Cerner EHR experience required - Basic computer knowledge, including Microsoft Office and electronic health record systems - Ability to read, write, and communicate clearly in English Description: Seeking an experienced Med Surg RN to provide observation and/or inpatient care to patients assigned to the Med Surg Unit. The RN is responsible for assessing and prioritizing patient care, administering nursing care and procedures, monitoring and reassessing patients, documenting assessments and changes in condition, educating patients and families, collaborating with providers, and supporting continuity of care to help prevent readmission. Required qualifications include: - Current RN license in good standing - Current BLS certification for healthcare providers - Current ACLS certification or ability to complete within 3 months - Current PALS certification or ability to complete within 3 months - Cerner EHR experience required - Basic computer knowledge, including Microsoft Office and electronic health record systems - Ability to read, write, and communicate clearly in English Essential responsibilities include: - Providing patient care within the RN scope of practice and in accordance with physician/provider orders. - Performing comprehensive patient assessments, care planning, nursing interventions, reassessments, and evaluation of care provided. - Monitoring patients for changes in condition and reporting abnormal findings to the appropriate provider. - Administering medications, IV therapy, oxygen therapy, blood products, and other treatments accurately and timely. - Operating infusion pumps and documenting accurately in the electronic health record. - Completing required Cerner documentation in accordance with competencies, training, policies, and procedures. - Using Care Compass to organize and document assessments, care tasks, procedures, and patient education. - Performing age-specific nursing care, including assessment and reassessment of patient condition. - Demonstrating knowledge of cardiac monitoring and rhythm interpretation, and taking appropriate action when needed. - Providing patient and family education related to disease processes, treatment plans, medications, pain management, wound care, discharge planning, and follow-up care. - Transferring care using SBAR format when appropriate. - Following infection prevention practices, universal precautions, and National Patient Safety Goals. - Maintaining patient confidentiality and protecting patient rights, dignity, and privacy. - Collaborating with providers, staff, and other departments to support interdisciplinary patient care. - Serving as a mentor to other nursing staff and supporting continuous learning. Work is performed in a hospital setting with exposure to work stress, environmental stress, frequent interruptions, moderate noise, and regular communication with patients, employees, vendors, and the public. This position requires the ability to perform heavy work, including lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, standing, walking, bending, reaching, kneeling, and assisting with patient movement and positioning. The role includes potential exposure to blood, bodily fluids, communicable disease, radiation, chemicals, and hazardous materials.
