Human Resources Contractor (Temporary Coverage) Location: Philadelphia / HybridCompany: Fidem FinancialPosition Type: Temporary Independent Contractor (Part-Time)Contract Duration: Approximately 3-4 Months Overview Fidem Financial is seeking a Human Resources Contractor to provide temporary coverage during a maternity leave period. This contractor will support payroll coordination, employee lifecycle processes, benefits administration, recruitment support, and day-to-day HR operations. The contractor will work collaboratively with internal leadership and external partners to help ensure HR and payroll-related processes continue efficiently and without disruption. This role may assist with payroll activities and payroll-related reporting but will not be solely responsible for processing payroll. Key Responsibilities Payroll Support & Administration Support payroll-related administrative activities and coordinate with the dedicated payroll contractor to help ensure timely and accurate payroll processing. Employee Lifecycle Support Support employee lifecycle processes including onboarding, offboarding, employee record maintenance, and personnel documentation management. Coordinate onboarding documentation including personal information, tax forms, payroll details, and time-off policy assignments. Support I-9 compliance processes and maintain accurate HR records and documentation. Assist with offboarding coordination including final documentation and payroll-related communication. Benefits Administration Conduct benefits overview meetings with newly hired employees during onboarding. Assist employees with benefits enrollment and benefits-related questions. Coordinate benefits enrollment documentation with external partners to ensure timely processing. Maintain payroll deduction codes related to employee benefits and retirement contributions. HR Operations & Employee Support Respond to employee HR-related inquiries and provide general administrative support. Support HR leadership with employee relations matters and HR operational needs. Assist with maintaining compliance-related HR documentation and reporting. Time Off Management Review and coordinate employee time-off requests. Maintain accurate tracking of employee leave balances and applicable policies. Recruitment Support Support recruitment activities including interview scheduling, candidate communication, and hiring coordination. Prepare and distribute offer letters and onboarding materials as needed. HR Systems & Documentation Maintain accurate HR records, personnel documentation, and payroll-related files. Ensure SharePoint documentation and HR records remain organized and up to date. General HR Administration Support ongoing HR administrative operations including responding to requests, maintaining records, and coordinating HR-related processes as needed. Qualifications 3+ years of HR experience preferred Experience supporting onboarding, benefits administration, and payroll coordination Familiarity with payroll systems and HRIS platforms preferred Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion Strong written and verbal communication skills Proficiency in Microsoft Office and SharePoint preferred Compensation Compensation will be based on experience and qualifications. Work Environment 3 Days in office in the Philadelphia area Prolonged periods of sitting and working on a computer Ability to communicate effectively via phone, video conference, and email Contractor Relationship This position is structured as an independent contractor engagement. The selected contractor will not be considered an employee of Fidem Financial and will not be eligible for company-sponsored employee benefits. The contractor will be responsible for all applicable taxes, insurance, and business expenses unless otherwise agreed upon in writing.
