The Board of Behavioral Health and Therapy exists to regulate the practices of alcohol and drug counseling and professional counseling in the State of Minnesota. Regulation of these professions is necessary to protect the health, safety and welfare of the public when they receive mental health and chemical health counseling services. The Board carries out its mission through effective licensure and enforcement of statutes and rules that ensure a standard of competent and ethical practice.
The Compliance Coordinator is responsible for (1) processing continuing education (CE) audits and tracking CE compliance; (2) processing CE variance requests and tracking CE compliance; (3) processing and tracking continuing education sponsor applications and individual continuing education applications; (4) processing and tracking of Professional Firms; and (5) performing special projects and other duties as assigned by the Board's Executive Director.
This position is eligible for a hybrid telework arrangement. With a telework arrangement, onsite attendance will be required for team members or as requested by management to meet business needs. Minimum Qualifications

Customer service skills sufficient to: (1) perform the duties with politeness, respect, and interest in positive problem solving; (2) provide prompt and accurate information to customers in person, on the phone, and through email and other written or electronic correspondence; and (3) respond effectively to clients, coworkers, and customers who have questions about agency operations and procedures (in person, in writing, on the phone, and through presentations and other electronic correspondence).
Knowledge of communication sufficient to: (1) read, explain, and interpret a variety of materials; (2) follow detailed instructions and explain complex processes to customers; and (3) write, prepare, and edit materials, using correct spelling, punctuation, grammar, and sentence construction.
Skills in database management sufficient to enter and retrieve data and perform searches to find relevant information and generate a variety of up-to-date reports.
Keyboarding/typing skill, using Microsoft Word or equivalent software, sufficient to produce documents such as emails, memos, form letters and other correspondence in an efficient and timely manner.
Spreadsheet skills sufficient to develop and maintain mailing lists and other documentation accurately and with proficiency.
Preferred Qualifications
Strong administrative skills, including typing, proofreading, grammar, spelling, punctuation, filing and the use of office equipment.
Demonstrated ability to organize and prioritize tasks.
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to handle difficult contacts in a courteous, confident, and professional manner.
Ability to work effectively under pressure and handle frequent interruptions.
