The ideal candidate is energetic, organized, solution-oriented, and capable of motivating team members while maintaining high standards of quality and professionalism.The successful candidate will have strong installation experience, leadership abilities, excellent communication skills, and the desire to take ownership of project success from start to finish.Key ResponsibilitiesLeadership & Team CoordinationLead and coordinate installation teams on residential, commercial, and public-sector projects.Assign daily tasks and maintain crew productivity.Train, mentor, and support junior technicians and installers.Lead by example through professionalism, work ethic, and accountability.Promote a positive, team-oriented work environment.Installation & Technical ExecutionParticipate directly in installations while supervising field personnel.Install and support audio/video, networking, security, access control, automation, and low-voltage systems.Install displays, projectors, speakers, equipment racks, cameras, access control devices, and related technologies.Perform cable installation, termination, labeling, testing, and troubleshooting.Build, wire, and organize equipment racks according to company standards.Assist with system testing, commissioning, and project closeout activities.Project Execution & CommunicationReview project drawings, scope of work, schedules, and installation requirements before arriving on site.Communicate project progress, challenges, and solutions to Project Management.Coordinate effectively with clients, contractors, electricians, and other trades.Document field changes, job progress, punch-list items, and project notes.Ensure timesheets, job reports, and project documentation are completed accurately and on time.Safety & QualityMaintain clean, organized, and safe job sites.Ensure installations meet company standards, project specifications, and industry best practices.Identify issues early and proactively provide solutions.Conduct quality-control reviews before project completion.RequirementsQualificationsRequired5+ years of experience in AV, low-voltage, structured cabling, networking, security, automation, or related technology fields.Previous experience leading crews, supervising technicians, or coordinating field activities.Strong communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to read plans, drawings, and project documentation.Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and team-first mindset.Valid California Driver's License with a clean driving record.Preferred ExperienceExperience with one or more of the following:Audio Visual SystemsStructured Cabling SystemsNetwork Infrastructure & Wi-FiSecurity & Surveillance SystemsAccess Control SystemsVideo Conferencing SystemsLighting Control SystemsControl Systems & AutomationEquipment Rack Assembly & IntegrationCommercial Construction ProjectsPublic Works ProjectsCertifications & Qualifications PreferredCandidates possessing one or more of the following certifications are strongly encouraged to apply:BICSI Installer 1 (INST1)BICSI Installer 2 Copper (INSTC)BICSI Installer 2 Optical Fiber (INSTF)BICSI TechnicianBICSI RCDDCTS or CTS-IOSHA 10 or OSHA 30Manufacturer Certifications (Crestron, Q-SYS, Biamp, Shure, Control4, Lutron, etc.)Lift CertificationsLow Voltage or Electrical CertificationsEquivalent field experience may be considered in lieu of certifications.What Success Looks Like at ForTechThe Right CandidateTakes ownership and accountability.Shows up prepared and ready to lead.Communicates proactively.Supports teammates and helps others succeed.Solves problems instead of waiting for direction.Takes pride in quality workmanship.Delivers an exceptional customer experience.Continuously looks for ways to improve.If you are looking for a company where leadership, initiative, craftsmanship, and personal growth are valued, we encourage you to apply and become part of the ForTech team.
