Job Description Bachelor&#39;s or Master&#39;s degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.An opportunity is available for experienced Special Education Teachers to work full-time in self-contained classrooms serving students with diverse exceptionalities in multiple elementary school locations within the Land O Lakes area, East and West Pasco County, Florida. This contract position runs through May 29, 2026, beginning ASAP.Qualified candidates will hold a Florida Educators Certificate in Exceptional Student Education (K-6 for elementary or K-12 for middle/high school content areas) and have a Bachelors degree in this field. Prior experience teaching in self-contained ESE settings is required, with proven skills in managing behavioral challenges and delivering curriculum instruction effectively. Familiarity with IEP development and supporting Functional Behavior Assessments (FBA) and Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs) is essential. Training in Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) will be provided.Responsibilities include:Managing classrooms of 4-5 students aged Kindergarten through 12th grade with disabilities including Emotional Behavioral Disorder, Intellectual Disability, and Autism Spectrum DisorderStabilizing and maintaining student behavior while implementing lesson plans and educational objectivesCollaborating with behavior specialists and instructional assistants to support student successCompleting all required Florida fingerprinting and credentialing processes before placementKey qualifications:Valid Florida Educators Certification in Exceptional Student EducationExperience in self-contained ESE classrooms and behavior managementCompetence in IEP writing and supporting FBAs/BIPsStrong communication and collaboration skillsThis role requires candidates comfortable working on-site full-time with a schedule based on school hours (35-37.5 hours weekly).If you meet these requirements and are dedicated to making a positive impact in the lives of exceptional students, please apply to be considered for this rewarding teaching opportunity.
