Manual Lathe Operator

Job Description About the Role: We are urgently hiring a Manual Lathe Operator to join our 1st shift production team. This is a critical position and we are looking for someone who can operate manual lathes and mills independently, read blueprints, and produce high-quality precision parts. If you have strong hands-on machining experience and want a long-term, stable opportunity — we want to meet you. Responsibilities* Set up and operate manual vertical & horizontal turret lathes * Support complementary equipment such as keyseaters, mills, presses, and saws * Assist with CNC lathe, mill, and plasma cutting operations * Use digital and dial readouts * Read and interpret blueprints and production orders * Measure, mark, cut, and finish parts to spec * Verify tight tolerances using micrometers, calipers, gauges * Perform deburring, cleanup, and final inspections * Troubleshoot basic issues with manual machines * Keep work area clean, organized, and safe * Assist production team as needed to meet deadlinesQualifications* 3+ years of manual machining experience * Strong experience machining steels: A36, 1018, 1045, 4140, 304, 316 * Ability to read and interpret blueprints * Ability to hold tight tolerances * Comfortable using micrometers, calipers, indicators, gauges * Ability to work independently and meet production standards * Forklift experience preferredWork Environment* Manufacturing environment with exposure to noise and heavy machinery * Standing, lifting, and repetitive movement required * Team-oriented, safety-focused environmentCompany Description Weller Metalworks is a private equity-backed manufacturing company with operations in the United States and Canada.
