Java Developer/TesterWe are seeking a Java Developer with experience in mid-to-front-end stack development. This role involves developing, integrating, and troubleshooting software systems within a Linux/Unix environment. The position requires hands-on experience in writing unit and component tests, working with multithreaded applications, and refactoring complex software.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop and maintain Java-based applications, with a focus on multithreading.Write effective unit and component tests for new and existing code.Integrate, test, troubleshoot, and refactor software systems to improve performance and stability.Operate within a Linux/Unix development environment.Contribute to the full software development lifecycle in an Agile setting.Utilize bash scripting for various development and operational tasks.Required QualificationsEducation: A B.S. in Computer Science, Software/Computer/Electrical Engineering, or a related STEM discipline is required.Experience: Candidates must have proven Java development experience, including multithreading. A strong background in Linux/Unix development, integration, and troubleshooting is necessary. This includes hands-on experience writing unit and component tests for code not originally authored by the candidate, and a combined total of 3+ years in Linux, scripting/software development, and configuration management.Preferred QualificationsAdvanced Java multithreading skills.Experience with databases such as MongoDB or PostgreSQL.Familiarity with inter-process messaging middleware like gRPC or Artemis.Knowledge of UI frameworks, including JavaFX or Swing.Understanding of reactive programming (RxJava, Kotlin Coroutines, Flow).Experience with performance-tuning tools (JVisualVM, JConsole, JProfiler).Knowledge of containerization and orchestration technologies like Docker or Kubernetes.
