RN Med Surg/Tele - Mayfield Heights - Nights - Auto Offer

As a professional practitioner, the RN - Telemetry assumes the responsibility and accountability for delivery of patient care of telemetry patients. The RN - Telemetry demonstrates the ability to make clinical judgments in an effective and efficient manner, with supervision. The RN - Telemetry exhibits critical thinking and performance ability in the coordination of patient care, and consistently performs according to nursing standards while remaining accountable for providing patient care and assisting others in the management of patient care. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Utilizes the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care on telemetry unitPerforms focused interview to identify specific patient needsAssesses signs and symptoms indicating physiologic and psychosocial changes in the patient's conditionMonitors EKG output and keeps doctors informed of any changesRecords vital signs, including oxygen levels, blood pressure, breathing patterns, etc.Monitors patient progress and updates patient medical records as neededResponds to patients experiencing cardiac painPerforms various diagnostic testsManages and administers medicationMonitors and uses the electrocardiogram, EKG, or ECGEducates patients on cardiac health and communicates with patient's family when applicableAdministers tests, analyzes lab results, and reports them to the physicianDocuments the patient's plan of care using identified nursing diagnoses, expected patient outcomes, and selected nursing interventionsIdentifies and prioritizes actions based upon patient care requirementsPerforms interventions according to identified priorities, plan of care, and the hospital policies and patient care outcome standardProvides a safe, comfortable and therapeutic patient environmentRevises the plan of care according to evaluation, changes in medical plan of care, effective/ineffective nursing interventionsDocuments patient's response to nursing and other interventionsUses clinical judgment in evaluation activities to meet patient care needs of an assigned unit/floor including established prioritiesMonitors safety and effectiveness of the environment and equipmentMinimum Requirements:Current Registered Nurse license for the state in which the nurse practicesOne year experience in Telemetry PreferredComplies with all relevant professional standards of practiceParticipation and completion of Amergis' Competency program when applicableCurrent CPR if applicableTB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicableCurrent Health certificate (per contract or state regulation)Must meet all federal, state and local requirementsSuccessful completion of new hire training as applicable to job siteUnderstand patient confidentiality and HIPAA requirementsAbility to effectively elicit/provide information to and from appropriate individuals (including, but not limited to, supervisors, co-workers, clients) via strong communication skills; proficiency in the English language is requiredComputer proficiency requiredMust be at least 18 years of ageBenefitsAt Amergis, we firmly believe that our employees are the heartbeat of our organization and we are happy to offer the following benefits:Competitive pay & weekly paychecksHealth, dental, vision, and life insurance401(k) savings planAwards and recognition programs*Benefit eligibility is dependent on employment status.About AmergisAmergis, formerly known as Maxim Healthcare Staffing, has served our clients and communities by connecting people to the work that matters since 1988.
