All while understanding that together we are even better.Job Description Summary:The Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner functions as a vital member of the medical care management team, primarily focusing on surgical physician practice patients. Under the appropriate supervision, the ARNP is authorized to diagnose medical conditions, plan and implement treatments in alignment with the medical staff's delineation of clinical privileges for Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioners. The role encompasses a broad range of responsibilities including, but not limited to, the observation, assessment, nursing diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation of care. This also extends to health teaching and counseling of the ill, injured, or infirmed, along with the promotion of wellness, maintenance of health, and prevention of illness. The ARNP is responsible for the administration of medication and treatments as prescribed or authorized by a duly licensed practitioner, and for the supervision and teaching of other personnel in the theory and performance of these acts.In addition to direct patient care, the ARNP coordinates and performs preoperative assessments, prepares all clinical documentation, coordinates treatment plans, acts as a first assistant in the operating room when necessary, assists in the management of postoperative care, performs discharge planning coordination, rounds on all surgical patients, performs new consults, independently performs minor bedside procedures, and supports community outreach programs. The role requires working closely with the Director of Surgery, contributing to the maintenance of the Center of Excellence in Robotic Surgery Certification, managing external branding and internal values for the Robotic Program, improving healthcare quality and efficiency, and acting as a clinical liaison among physicians, nursing staff, and administrative staff. This includes engaging medical staff and patients from Pre-Op to Post-Op and creating community education projects for robotics. All while understanding that together we are even better.The value you'll bring to the team:PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:Provide services similar to those of a physician.Examine patients, take medical histories, maintain patient records, identify health risk factors, prescribe medications, make referrals and otherwise treat health conditions.Focus on patient wellness and disease prevention.Provide health education services and/or counsel patients on how to make healthy lifestyle choices.Will need to work weekdays, occasional weekends and nights for call coverage.KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:Risk Management: understand method and reasoning for reporting incidents, completion of hospital incident report form, assists department manager or others in recognizing and reducing risk within the department and other areas of the hospital.Service Management: Demonstrates courteous service, and ability to meet special needs or requests, performs duties and a timely manner and provides updates if a delay occurs, communicates with courtesy when interacting with internal and external patients, in person or by telephone.
