Security Configuration Baseline Engineer (contract)

Genesis10 is currently seeking a Security Configuration Baseline Engineer for a contract position with a Global Financial Institution located in Las Colinas, TX, Charlotte, NC or Chandler, AZ. This is a 12+ month contract opportunity.The Security Configuration Baseline Engineer is responsible for designing, engineering, and operationalizing security configuration baselines across enterprise technology platforms. This role sits at the intersection of GRC, cloud security architecture, and automation, translating policy requirements and industry standards into codified, enforceable, and auditable security baselines. The position focuses on baseline engineering with accountability for converting standards, policies, and risk requirements into baseline as code, enabling preventative controls, drift detection, and enterprise-scale governance.Responsibilities:Consult on complex initiatives with broad impact and large-scale planning for Information Security AnalysisReview and analyze complex, multi-faceted, larger-scale or longer-term Information Security Analysis challengesContribute to the resolution of complex situations requiring a solid understanding of the function, policies, procedures, and compliance requirementsDesign, engineer, and operationalize security configuration baselines across enterprise technology platformsTranslate policy requirements and industry standards into codified, enforceable, and auditable security baselinesConvert standards, policies, and risk requirements into baseline as code, enabling preventative controls and drift detectionRequirements:5+ years of experience in Information Security Analysis, cloud security, platform security, or security engineering3-5+ years of experience with Cloud Security Posture Management (CSPM)3+ years of experience with Risk and Control2-4+ years of experience with Python scriptingHands-on experience with security configuration baselines or hardening standardsStrong working knowledge of public cloud platforms (Azure and/or GCP preferred)Strong working knowledge of Policy as Code or guardrail frameworksStrong working knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Terraform)Experience mapping security controls to industry standards (CIS, NIST, ISO)Ability to produce clear, structured, audit-ready documentationExperience operating in large, regulated enterprise environmentsDesired skills:Experience with a baseline as code programFamiliarity with cloud organization level controls (management groups, folders, org policies)Experience with CI/CD integration of security controlsExposure to risk management, audit response, or regulatory examinationsBackground in automating governance processes (exception workflows, control validation, reporting)Engineering mindset with strong governance disciplineComfortable translating ambiguity into explicit, machine-enforceable requirementsDetail-oriented with a strong emphasis on traceability and defensibilityStrong written communication skills for executive, audit, and technical audiencesAble to work independently while collaborating across multiple enterprise teamsPay range: $59.53 - $67.53 per hourOnly candidates available and ready to work directly as Genesis10 employees will be considered for this position.If you have the described qualifications and are interested in this exciting opportunity, please apply!Ranked a Top Staffing Firm in the U.S. by Staffing Industry Analysts for six consecutive years, Genesis10 puts thousands of consultants and employees to work across the United States every year in contract, contract-for-hire, and permanent placement roles.
