ROLE OVERVIEWThe Physician will have a clinical focus on general physical medicine and rehabilitation Internal Medicine & Midlevel support serves as patients primary physician & performs H&Ps.Assessment and management of patients with long term functional limitations; development of a plan of care in consultation with other specialists The ideal candidate must be proficient managing medically complex patients and comfortable taking care of a variety of rehab-related diagnoses on the unit.Perform medical procedures to treat pain and improve physical functioning Lead a team of medical professionals, which may include physical therapists as well as occupational therapists, with the goal of optimizing patient care Monitor ongoing progress and health of patients and adjust treatment plans accordingly Provide tools and guidance that allow that patient to adapt and improve overall health physical functioning Counsel patients as well as their families Additional procedural opportunities may include botulinum toxin injections, baclofen pump management and EMGs.
