5 days ago Be among the first 25 applicantsFull Time:Hourly at Williamsburg or Downtown Brooklyn locationJob Summary The Assistant General Manager of a PUPS Pet Club will assist the Area General Manager in leading daily operations while remaining hands on in the business. This role balances people, leadership, customer experience and operational execution, working side by side with team members to ensure a safe, clean, and engaging environment for pets, pet parents and team members. The Assistant General Manager plays a critical role in executing operational standards, coaching frontline team members, and stepping into leadership coverage as needed, while also directly participating in store operations.Essential Functions and ResponsibilitiesActively participate in daily operations including customer service, pet care support, cleaning, and facility standards.Ensure operational excellence by following Company procedures related to safety, cleanliness, and pet care standards.Assist with opening and closing procedures and operational audits.Identify operational gaps and elevate opportunities for improvement to the Area General Manager.Support the Area General Manager in supervising, coaching and developing team members.Provide on the floor leadership during peak business hours.Assist with training new hires and reinforcing standard operating procedures.Lead shifts and provide direction when Area General Manager is offsite.Promote a positive, inclusive and accountability-driven team culture.Deliver exceptional service to pet parents by addressing concerns, resolving issues, and ensuring consistent service quality.Serve as a role model for Customer engagement and pet first behaviors.Support the execution of promotions, programs and service offerings.Assist with scheduling and shift coverage to ensure proper staffing levels.Support timekeeping accuracy and compliance with labor policies.Help manage overtime responsibly while meeting operational needs.Ensure compliance with company policies, safety procedures, and local/state regulations.Support incident reporting and follow up.Maintain high standards of cleanliness, sanitation and pet welfare.All other duties as assigned.QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent.2+ years of experience in pet care, retail, hospitality or service-based operations.Prior experience in a leadership or supervisory role.Excellent interpersonal, team building, and customer service skills.Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and time management skills.Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.Proficient with M365 and familiar with workforce management systems and POS platforms.Strong verbal and written communication skills.Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.Passion for pets and commitment to animal safety and care.Physical RequirementsAbility to stand and walk for extended periods.Ability to lift up to 50lbs.Comfortable working around animals of various sizes and temperaments.Exposure to pet dander, cleaning chemicals, and noise typical of a pet care environment.BenefitsMedical insuranceVision insurance401(k)Referrals increase your chances of interviewing at PUPS Pet Club by 2x.#J-18808-Ljbffr
