Project Engineer

Extension is seeking a Project Engineer – Plastics for a Direct Hire opportunity with one of our clients located in Waukesha County, WI.About Our ClientGrowing manufacturer supporting high-performance, regulated industriesFocused on complex component production and advanced materialsOffers a collaborative, engineering-driven environmentProvides competitive compensation, benefits, and career growth opportunitiesKey Objectives / Role ResponsibilitiesLead cross-functional teams from quoting through production launchReview part and tooling designs to ensure manufacturability and qualityManage multiple projects, including timelines, budgets, and supplier coordinationSupport process development, including molding, automation, and secondary operationsDrive quality planning efforts (APQP) including DOEs, capability studies, and cost optimizationDesired Skills & QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Plastics Engineering (or equivalent experience)5+ years of experience in plastic manufacturing or injection moldingStrong understanding of:Tooling and mold design fundamentalsInjection molding processes (thermoplastics, thermosets, or elastomers)Manufacturing processes and quality planning (APQP, DOEs, capability studies)Experience managing multiple projects, timelines, and suppliersStrong communication skills with ability to interface across teamsFamiliarity with ERP systems and standard business software (Excel, Word, MS Project preferred)Salary Information$85,000 – $115,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications
