Job Details Location: Peoria, IL (61637) — Peoria, Illinois / Central Illinois travel nursing job Role: Med/Surg Registered Nurse (RN), Surgical Acute / Medical-Surgical Unit Position Type: Travel Nurse / 13-week travel contract (March 30, 2026 - June 29, 2026) Shift: 12-hour nights (7:30 PM - 7:30 AM) — Night shift RN Hours per Week: 36 hours (guaranteed) Estimated Weekly Pay: $2130-$2250 Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend (Saturday & Sunday) Holiday Requirement: Rotating every other holiday Orientation: 2 shifts with preceptor plus one 12-hour EPIC/professional orientation Job Requirements Active RN license in Illinois (or verification that Illinois application has been initiated) BLS certification (AHA required) Minimum 1 year of recent Med/Surg RN experience with strong post-op care skills Experience with surgical nursing tasks: wound care, dressing changes, drains, NGs, central lines, TPN, IV therapy Telemetry monitoring experience preferred (Phillips monitors) Proven critical thinking, teamwork, and excellent bedside communication skills Ability to provide a negative drug screen for all panels (Drug-Free Campus) Responsibilities Provide high-quality nursing care to post-op surgical, trauma, and overflow medical patients as a Surgical/Med-Surg RN Perform dressing changes, wound care, IV therapy, pain management, drain management, NG tube care, central line care, and TPN administration Manage respiratory supports including CPAP and high flow oxygen therapies; monitor and interpret telemetry Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members including charge nurses, house supervisors, physicians, and patient care techs Float to units with similar acuity as needed (flexible travel nurse assignment) Maintain accurate, timely charting using EPIC electronic health record Demonstrate excellent bedside manner, patient education, and clear communication with patients and families Apply now to join our team as a Travel Nurse (Med/Surg RN) in Peoria, IL.
