Technical Accounting and M&A Senior Manager
A large, complex organization is seeking a Senior Manager, Technical Accounting and M&A to join its finance leadership team. This is a high-impact role supporting strategic transactions and enterprise-wide accounting initiatives. The position partners closely with cross-functional teams to provide technical accounting guidance related to mergers, acquisitions, and other significant business activities.This role is well-suited for a collaborative leader with strong technical accounting expertise, communication skills, and experience navigating complex transactions.Responsibilities:Lead accounting support for mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, and other strategic transactionsOversee accounting due diligence efforts and assist with post-transaction integration activitiesIdentify and assess accounting risks associated with transactions and recommend appropriate solutionsProvide guidance on technical accounting topics, including consolidation, revenue recognition, goodwill, and valuation mattersPrepare and review technical accounting documentation and position papersPartner with cross-functional teams including finance, tax, IT, and external advisorsCommunicate key accounting conclusions and implications to senior leadershipSupport the preparation and review of opening balance sheets for acquired entitiesMonitor and interpret new accounting standards and assist with implementation across the organizationManage relationships with external auditors and third-party specialistsDrive process improvements and enhance efficiency within accounting policy workflowsMentor and develop team members, strengthening overall technical capabilitiesRequirements:Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field8+ years of progressive accounting experiencePrior experience in a managerial or leadership roleCPA or equivalent certificationBackground in technical accounting or transaction-related accountingExperience working with large, complex organizations or professional services firmsAdditional Information:Hybrid work structure with a combination of in-office and remote workCompetitive compensation with performance-based incentivesComprehensive benefits package including health coverage, retirement plans, and paid time offCompensation will vary based on experience, qualifications, and market factors
