Engine Machinist (Springfield MO)

As the engine machinist you will machine a variety of purchased, remanufactured and fabricated engine components including blocks, heads, cranks, cams, and rods, to Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) specifications. This position also includes routine inspection of major engine components with the use of precision gaging and documentation of results, as well as setting up machinery. Must work with the safety department to ensure all local, state and federal regulatory agencies requirements are met, OSHA 1910, NFPA, DNR. Must work with the quality department to ensure all quality standards are met. Essential Functions: Follow work instructions, submit PCR for incorrect work instructions, contribute to continuous improvement Team Player, communicate effectively Uses existing procedures and basic problem-solving techniques to define or resolve routine problems Complete daily hoist inspection, daily pallet jack inspection, maintain good housekeeping practices Operate hydraulic press, CNC milling centers, CMM (coordinate measuring machine), torque wrench, line hone, cylinder hone, Rottler milling and boring machine, crank and cam micro polishers, Rottler seat + guide machines, cabinet and submersion washers, welders, cylinder head mill, pallet jacks, hoist, and liquid nitrogen freezers Operate various gauges and pneumatics Meet departmental daily quota or standard hours Inspect engine components and document results Clean engine components Use various hand tools such as screwdriver, file, hammer, and wrench Set up and inspect machines used in the machining process Requirements High School Diploma or HiSet (Formerly GED) Regular, predictable, and reliable attendance Ability to read, write and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, Safety Data Sheets (SDS), Globally Harmonized System (GHS) labels, Job Safety Analysis (JSA) Ability to work with computers and software systems, must wear all personal protective equipment PPE Must be able to sit, stand, walk, bend, stooping, twist, reach, reach overhead Must be able to stand, walk, bend, climb, push, reach, pull, lift up to 49 lbs. occasionally, and 10 lbs. frequently 1 year machining experience required Work in a climate-controlled area Work in a hearing conservation area Must be able to safely operate all machining equipment Must have understand arithmetic, algebra and geometry. Must have k nowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance and well as attention to detail.
