Their excellent technical skills – accompanied by their role as employee-owners – has become our legacy.MACHINISTOur Machinist is responsible for setting up and operating machine tools to fabricate precision parts. Produces one off, small batches, or large quantities of parts and tools, and ensures products meet precise specifications. Maintains and repairs machinery, machine parts, tools and equipment. This is a 1st shift position working 5am to 3:30 Monday-Thursday with mandatory overtime as needed on Fridays and occasional Saturdays. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Study sample parts, blueprints, drawings, or engineering information to determine methods or sequences of operations needed to fabricate productsCalculate dimensions or tolerances, using instruments such as micrometers or calipersSet up, adjust, or operate basic or specialized machine tools used to perform precision machining operationsProperly and safely select, align, secure and remove holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories and materials onto machinesMachine parts to specifications, using machine tools, such as lathes, milling machinesMonitor the feed and speed of machines during the machining processMeasure, examine, or test completed units to check for defects and ensure conformance to specifications, using precision instruments, such as micrometersMaintain machine tools in proper operational conditionComplete bench top work as directedMust be able to work closely with miscellaneous Engineering staff members to develop new tools, parts, and fixturingOperate equipment to verify operational efficiencyCheck work pieces to ensure that they are properly lubricated or cooledPerforms maintenance work to the maintenance processes to meet IATF 16949:2016 standards.Participates in and supports the principles of Open Book Management.Other duties may be assigned as needed.WORK ENVIRONMENT:Work is performed with exposure to harsh conditions such as: dust, fumes, noise, and varying temperatures for extended periods of time. All employees are required to follow safety standards and wear all personal protective equipment in designated areas.PHYSICAL DEMANDS:The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential function of this job. While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to walk, stand, use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl and talk and hear. Sitting 5%, standing/walking 95%. Frequently lift and or move 35 pounds to 50 pounds. QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:Ideal candidates will have a proven track record of reliability. They will have motivation and drive to get the job done. They will be enthusiastic workers interested in growth and improvement. Other requirements include:High School diploma or GED preferred. AA/AS in Maintenance Technology, Engineering, or related equivalent experience.
