We're an established Asian fusion restaurant in Durham, NC, known for creative, thoughtful cooking that draws on bold flavors across Asian culinary traditions. We've built a loyal following in the Triangle food scene and are looking for a talented, trustworthy chef to lead our kitchen and take ownership of the guest experience from the inside out.We're looking for a Head Chef who is as comfortable managing a team and controlling costs as they are behind the line. This is a hands-on leadership role you'll set the tone for the kitchen, develop and evolve the menu, and be a key partner in the business. We want someone who treats this kitchen like their own.What You'll DoLead, train, and motivate a kitchen team in a fast-paced, high-volume environmentDevelop, refine, and execute a seasonal menu rooted in Asian fusion cuisineOwn food cost, ordering, vendor relationships, and inventory managementMaintain the highest standards of food quality, consistency, and kitchen hygieneCollaborate closely with ownership on vision, direction, and growthFoster a positive, respectful kitchen cultureRequirements3-5+ years of progressive culinary experience, including at least 2 years in a lead or head chef roleDeep familiarity with Asian cuisines and fusion cooking techniquesProven ability to manage food costs and run an efficient kitchenStrong leadership skills you build people up, not break them downStable work history with verifiable references from previous employers
