Manufacturing Engineer - Metal Fabrication

Essential ResponsibilitiesCreate and maintain manufacturing documentation, including flat layouts, detail drawings, and job traveler support using CAD software (SolidWorks or equivalent)Develop and support manufacturing processes for sheet metal fabrication, CNC machining, press brake operations, and MIG/TIG weldingProvide technical support on the shop floor, including QA assistance, tooling support, part inspections, and operator trainingSupport rework activities, including root cause analysis, corrective actions, and change managementDevelop and maintain standard work instructions and ensure proper revision controlVerify routers and documentation reflect current revisions and assess impacts of engineering changesCollaborate with production, quality, and engineering teams to support new job launches and ongoing productionCommunicate manufacturing capabilities, schedules, and production considerations to internal teamsAssist with quoting and estimating activitiesSupport continuous improvement initiatives to reduce defects, eliminate waste, and improve efficiencyParticipate in first article reviews and assist with inspection documentationFollow and promote safety standards, OSHA compliance, and 5S practicesQualificationsEducation & ExperienceAssociate's degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineer - Metal Fabrication3-5 years of manufacturing experience, preferably in metal fabricationExperience with sheet metal assembly methods such as riveting, welding, and spot weldingStrong understanding of GD&T and engineering drawing interpretationExperience with measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauge pins/blocksProficiency in MS Office and familiarity with ERP systemsTechnical SkillsSolidWorks or similar 3D CAD software (required)Knowledge of sheet metal development and bend calculationsFamiliarity with Radan, DraftSight, or AutoCAD is a plus
